It was after the funeral of her mother, author Anna Kelly McLeod discovered a tattered, battered, velvet covered notebook on her mother’s desk. It was bursting with notes, photographs, recipes and wisdom, all beetroot and cake batter stained from many years of use. Using this notebook as a guide, Anna Kelly McLeod followed in the footsteps of her mother to find The Kitchen of Somewhere.

 

Inspired by great love, great loss, the velvet covered notebook and the epic landscapes encountered, from the south Pacific islands to the oceans, valleys, hills, and deserts of America, this cookbook travels over 64,000km and over 100 years of recipes to serve 70 recipes and over 240 stunning photographs that celebrate fresh, local flavor and translates the beauty of the place onto the plate.
